Demetrius Andrade is all set to defend his WBO middleweight title against Jason Quigley. The championship fight will happen on November 19 and is the headliner of a DAZN fight card that includes three world championship boxing matches.
Demetrius Andrade is 30-0 with 18 knockouts. Andrade has dominated his opposition at the middleweight division but has not been able to land a fight with a big-name opponent. The WBO champion will be a heavy favorite once again when he steps into the ring with Quigley.
Jason Quigley has 19 wins in 20 professional boxing matches. He stopped 14 foes before the scheduled end of the fight. The Irishman is 30 years old and scored a victory over Shane Mosley Jr. in his last boxing match. The match against Andrade represents a big step up in competition for Quigley.
The fight card’s co-feature presents Murodjon Akhmadaliev in a title defense against Ronny Rios. The 22-year-old Uzbekistan native became a unified champion at 122 pounds by defeating Daniel Roman in January 2020. Akhmadaliev defended his title four months later against Ryosuke Iwasa.
Murodjon Akhmadaliev is a 2016 bronze medalist and is 9-0 as a professional fighter. Akhmadaliev’s current knockout total stands at seven.
Ronny Rios should present a more than credible challenge to Akhmadaliev. Rios, a native of Southern California, is 33-3 with 16 knockouts. He earned a win over Oscar Negrete in his last fight eight months ago.
WBC flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez defends his title against McWilliams Arroyo in the first title match. Martinez is 18-1 with 14 knockouts. The Mexican fighter is at the top of the 112-pound division and on the verge of pound-for-pound consideration.
McWilliams Arroyo is a 35-year-old native of Puerto Rico. Arroyo’s professional record stands at 21-4 with 16 knockouts. He has faced some of the best fighters in the division and represents a tough challenge for Martinez.
