Jaron Ennis stepped into the ring with Thomas Dulorme last night with intentions to impress the crowd on hand in Las Vegas. Ennis needed a little more than half a round to do so.
Jaron Ennis, a top prospect from Philadelphia, raises his record to 28-0. Ennis has stopped the last 16 men who dared to step into the ring with him.
Thomas Dulorme began the fight with his trademark aggression. But Ennis was able to find the range early with his jab and neutralize his opponent’s attack.
Ennis landed a right hand near Dulorme’s left ear about a minute into the fight. The punch caused Dulorme to land on his hands and knees.
Thomas Dulorme showed resiliency after climbing from the canvas. Dulorme reengaged with Ennis and even landed a good right hand to the left side of the challenger’s face.
Ennis returned fire with a three-punch combination ending with a straight left hand to the chin. The punch put Dulorme down. The game fighter was unable to beat the ten count.
Most fight fans expected Ennis to win the fight. But not many people expected him to finish a tough veteran like Dulorme in less than two minutes.
Ennis thanked Dulorme for the opportunity after the fight but was a little disappointed with the quick finish. “I wanted to show my skills and ability,” Ennis explains. “I couldn’t, but I got a knockout.”
Jaron Ennis had a message for the big names in the 147-pound division after his fight with Dulorme: “We’re taking over the welterweight division. Let’s get it.”
The names mentioned by Ennis include Terence Crawford, Errol Spence, Keith Thurman, Yordenis Ugas, and Shawn Porter. When asked to narrow his selections down, Jaron Ennis had this to say: “I’m ranked number 3 in the IBF, so, Errol Spence.”
