Shawn Porter says he is unbothered with boxing fans picking Terrence Crawford to defeat him. But Porter did take time to respond to Crawford saying he is looking forward to defeating a PBC fighter.
“He said what he is supposed to say,” Porter explained. The challenger added, “He can say he is looking forward to beating a PBC fighter. He can say he is looking forward to getting into a ring with a PBC fighter. But we know I’m not the PBC fighter he wanted to get in the ring with.”
The fight between Shawn Porter and Terrence Crawford became possible when the WBO made Porter the mandatory challenger for Crawford’s title. Crawford did not mention the former IBF and WBC welterweight champion as a potential opponent before the WBO ordered the fight.
